When is it a good time of the year to moss treat a roof? What will happen if I don't spray my roof?

Moss and lichen treatment can be done any time of the year. If you don't get your roof sprayed the moss and lichen can cause damage to your roof. Lichen is particularly hard on iron roofs. It eats into the paint and can permanently mark it. Sometimes if left too long rust will start to occur. Moss causes more problems on concrete tile roofs. As it grows it starts to block the channels of the tiles and opens up cracks in the mortar.

When moss and lichen is left to grow it will hold moisture and slow the roof from drying out. Also it will grow from your roof and start blocking your gutters and down pipes.

When is it a good time in the year to paint a roof?

Iron roofs need to be painted in the warmer months of the year and normally this is a 6-month time frame. Chip tile roofs can be painted all year round when the weather is fine. Concrete tiles should be painted over the warmer months of the year. This is normally an 8-month time frame.

When is a good time to organise a roof painting?

It is a good idea to contact us as soon as you decide to get the work done. Over winter can be a great time to get organised and carry out repairs to the roof so it is ready to paint when the weather warms up. A moss treatment can be applied over winter.

When is it a good time to get roof repairs done?

Roof repairs can be carried out all year round. If you want to avoid the summer rush, winter is a good time for repairs.
